TeXnicCenter Error

Postby Marius on Tue Jul 21st, 2009

Hello!
Today i saw a problem with TexnicCenter; when I wanted to write a simple article I've got the message: "You are attempting to make a LaTeX format from a source file; That is more than five years old".
What should I do to fix it?

Seems to be more matter of your LaTeX system than of TeXnicCenter (TXC). But you don't say which one you have installed.

Best regards and welcome to the board

Hi!

Same problem over here. This machine has MikTex 2.7 installed and GSview. I don't understand what is wrong with this setup as it was working on my old machine. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the full error message by the way

I recommend updating to MiKTeX 2.9. Btw. TeX Live is a good alternative distribution.

Thank you for your reply Stefan. I was hoping to find a quick way around it and I should have probably mentioned that I'm using TeXnic Center, but that's fine now. Eventually the IT people here sorted things out and updated my machine. I am now convinced though that this was a TeXnic Center problem, probably a very old version of it that will not work with MikTex 2.7 is installed on this machine I'm using.
Thanks again for your comment.
