How to put first author's last name at first in Reference?

LaTeX Forum: BibTeX, biblatex and biber

Hi, all,

I am currently use "abbrv" style for my BIBTEX. But there is a problem----in automatically generated Reference, the first Author's last name is not listed first. Instead, the abbreviated first name is listed as first.

For instance, it is shown in the Reference as this way: "R.K. Merton, K. Smith and J. Kim". However, what I want is "Merton, R.K., K. Smith and J. Kim".

Can anybody help me on this? Should I choose another particular style for my reference?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

perhaps try biblatex instead of reprogramming a bibtex style. Here's some information:
