Bibliography sorted by Year

Postby nenu28 » Thu May 17, 2012 10:42 am

Hello,

I am using BibTeX and I have more than 53 references to put into the bibliography. I have created a BibTeX file and I would like to sort those references by year of publications : 2012, 2011, 2010, ...

Is there any command which can do it ?

Thanks

I don't know if you need a particular style, but you can sort bibliography data using the databib package (part of the datatool bundle).
  1. \documentclass{article}
  2.
  3. \usepackage{databib}
  4.
  5. \begin{document}
  6. % First argument is the name of new datatool database
  7. % Second argument is list of .bib files
  8. \DTLloadbbl{mybibdata}{acmtr}
  9. % Sort database in order of year starting from most recent
  10. \DTLsort{Year=descending}{mybibdata}
  11. % Add citations
  12. \nocite{*}
  13.
  14. % Display bibliography
  15. \DTLbibliography{mybibdata}
  16. \end{document}
