Roberto Giacomelli released his calctab package. The calctab package helps the user to typeset a kind of economic table such as invoices, expense notes and liquidation or other tabular material with a values column.
Joseph Wright has updated his siunitx package to version 1.2f. The new version introduces the ability to disable literal unit processing and new units for chemical engineers (g-mol, kg-mol, lb-mol). The siunitx package is a package for typesetting values with units. According to the author the package takes the best from other existing packages and adds new features and a consistent interface.
Shengjun Pan has released MEPer -- a tool for editing MetaPost source files and previewing the output. As typical for Java applications, MEPer runs on Windows and Linux.
TeXstudio version 2.5.1 has been released. It's mainly a bugfix release. but also provides some new features, such as a new template system, a better fold panel, a context menu für in-text preview, and an option for opening all included documents.
During the last software update, the registration feature of LaTeX Community, that enables new users to register, has been damaged. The bug has been fixed now, so that the registration is working again. Thanks to the users who contacted me. Read 2 Comments...

Stephan Hennig has released version 3.0 of his mcaption package. The new version fixes some bugs and introduces some changes that ease the use of the package. The new version is incompatible to documents created with the previous version of the package.
Martin Gieseking has updated his dvisvgm tool. The latest release introduces basic evaluation of DVI specials which is currently limited to color statements. However, more special handlers are planned and partially already in work.
Herber Voss has released version 1.00 of his pst-optic package. The release provides a new style for the optical axis and the documentation is now in the PSTricks style. The pst-optic package can be used for drawing both reflective and refractive optics diagrams. The package requires PSTricks later than version 1.10.
We have released the first stable version of the new TeXnicCenter 2.0 development branch. You may download a 32-bit version or 64-bit version. This is a BETA version of the software. It is somewhat stable and unlikely to crash. It is certainly stable enough to replace TeXnicCenter Version 1.
TeXample.net is now on Twitter. TeXample.net is a web site dedicated to TeX and related software, currently it's focussed on collecting and showing TikZ examples.

Guillaume Connan has released version 4.03 of his tablor package. The new version improves tables with forbidden zones. The tablor package allows to generate tables of signs and of variations using the computer algebra system XCAS. The actual plotting of the tables is performed using the the MetaPost macro package tableauVariations.
Herbert Voß has released an assorted set of support files for use with PStricks. The packaged called pst-support contains an appropriate set of job options, together with process scripts for use with TeXnicCenter.
Alexander Grahn has updated his AcroReloadPDF script: The reload utility can now be invoked using the keyboard by pressing [Alt]+[F] followed by [D]. The small JavaScript file which has just been released a few days ago, adds an item to the Adobe Reader's menu, that allows reloading the current PDF file.
Texmaker version 3.5.1 has been released on October 31, 2012. The free cross-platform LaTeX editor now supports export via TeX4ht to HTML, Open Document and MathML.
Update, November 2, 2012: version 3.5.2 appeared today which fixes the bug about the shortcut of the "quick build" command.
The version 2.0.2 of LyX has been released. This second maintenance release in the 2.0.x series fixes provides many improvements, especially regarding tex2lyx and support for Springer and CTEX classes, and it fixes some bugs.
Scott Pakin has released version 1.8 of PerlTeX. The new version adds support for creating documents that can build either with or without PerlTeX. Specifically, the new optional package option tells PerlTeX not to issue an error message if Perl is inaccessible, and the new \ifperl macro checks if Perl is accessible, thereby letting the author define fallback macros/environments if it's not.
Christian Feuersänger has released the latest version of his pgfplots package. The new release features a completely rewritten math expression parser with extended data ranges, colormaps for scatter plots and fine tuning for plot parameters. The table package has been extended and is now a full featured table typesetting, computing and post-processing tool.
Herbert Voß, Denis Girou and Timothy Van Zandt have updated their pstricks package to version 1.27. The new version introduces several new macros. The pstricks package is an extensive collection of PostScript macros that is compatible with most TeX macro formats, including Plain TeX, LaTeX, AMS-TeX, and AMS-LaTeX.
François Charette has released version 1.0.2 of Polyglossia which contains mainly bugfixes. Polyglossia is a complete replacement of Babel for users of XeLaTeX.
